More from Coal Lake
We were able to make our way out to Coal Lake again, and this time we brought back photos from lake level. Last time it was too dark to get good shots without a tripod, which I neglected to bring.

We were also able to get some shots of the muckiest section of the trail, although it is difficult to see how deep the mud is in the photos. In the photo on the right, you can see that there is a wooden structure that makes things a bit easier.

The fishing was good again, proving that the last trip was not a fluke. The driving conditions were slightly better, and I would now recommend this as an off-road trail with a diffiulty level in the range of moderate to difficult, depending on conditions. I do this with the qualifier, however, that it shouldn’t be driven at all in wet conditions. I wouldn’t leave for Coal Lake and expect to drive to lake level if there was any chance of rain. In dry conditions, however, it can be safely driven without much trouble. Bring mosquito repellant or at least don’t say I didn’t warn you.

We caught two small trout, and Dan caught his first of the season.
Sierra, feel free to use any of my photos.
