I Need a Job!
January 25, 2007 at 11:15AM Not that I particularly want a job, but since I’m finished with school for the time being, I need one. Plus, I’m hoping to buy a house within the next year or so, and as unfair as it may sound, I’m going to need a job to do so.
I’m really not a good job hunter, however, since my jobs have usually come through informal means. Thus, I’ve never become entirely comfortable with resume writing, especially the self-promoting aspect of it. Granted, I think I’m great, and that I can learn just about any job quickly (probably even yours), but I’ve just always preferred to be underestimated and quietly smug.
Anyway, if you have any suggestions for jobs that would suit someone with five years of university and no degree to show for it, more than 10,000 hours of trade experience and no ticket to show for it, a silly website, marginal photography skills, some experience pushing paper, and an uncanny ability to fool others into thinking he knows what he’s doing, let me know. Better yet, just give me a job so I can stop working on this stupid resume.

Argh! I hate resume writing. I suggest you just hand in your 'New Author Bio.' As far as the job search goes, you can have my job. I begin my new job as an English/Studies of Religion teacher tomorrow. You could do it I'm sure. I'd rather not work, ever. Do you think you could make it to Sydney by tomorrow am?
Oh, and congratulations on finishing school. Does this mean you are graduating or deferring for a while?
Don't think I'll be making it to Sydney anytime soon, especially with this GPS tracking device around my ankle. I have been forced, however, to check in with my probation officer "religiously" for several years now, so I feel fully qualified to stand in for you.
... and thanks for dolling up the fact that I quit school. From now on, I'm merely deferring.
